I ended up wearing a variation on this outfit when Laura and I went out to see Peter Murphy in concert (who still sounds amazing after all these years, btw). For our evening out I swapped the jeans for black tights and wore a short black dress (more of a slip, really) instead of the tank I have on here.
Dress: Fremont
Shrug: a gift from my sister
Jeans: Joe's
Boots: All Black
And because I think everyone could probably use a good laugh on a Friday afternoon, I thought I'd share a video by Canadian comedian Jon Lajoie (how could he not be Canadian with a name like that?), who Jess played for Mark and I when we were up in Seattle. To me the funniest comedy is the kind that points out truths, and this video perfectly sums up exactly how I feel about 99% of music that's played on the radio (which is why I almost never listen to the radio). Be forewarned that the lyrics contain a lot of swearing, so it's NSFW unless you've got headphones.

Ah, I remember Jon Lajoie from the comedy clubs when I lived up there! "Guns don't kill people. I kill people...with guns."
I love how your tattoos peak through the sheer sleeves of the shirtdress.
That was great! Asslicking isn't a word I've heard a lot. Gorgeous sheer dress.

HILARIOUS! And I love the dress. It's so feminine and delicate.
He could easily be from Louisiana or Maine.
Beautiful outfit, you look gorgeous x
I wish I could wear such a dress. But I loved the song, especially after the day I had yesterday.
Your outfit is beautiful- a perfectly balanced mix of earthy and ethereal- the grounding forces of jeans and boots, paired with the cloudlike aspects of the chiffon and shrug.
I love it.
and...
That video is HILARIOUS! I'm sending the link to everyone I know.
Right.Now.
I can see why you're enamoured. It's gorgeous. And that video is hilarious. I get the slight impression those songs bother him a little.
Crap! Why does video never work on my computer?! I miss all the good stuff.
Oh my goodness, in love with that dress! I really like how you styled it. Can't wait to see the next outfit using it!
I love this outfit! That shrug is great, too. I can't wait to see your other planned outfit with this dress.
Although my body and budget and everything else is pretty different from yours, I always, always find inspiration in your blog. This outfit is particularly great. I especially love how you roughed up the sweetness of the silk and fur with jeans.
Audi, this is so fantastic! I love the chiffon-y style of the dress, and the totally awesome shrug. :)
This whole outfit is to-die-for. Chiffon and a lacy shrug, I am in heaven just thinking about it.
You look amazing.
Sheer top + Lace shrug = Gorgeousness
