Hello from New York!
I made it to New York, and I have to admit that the weather here is nowhere near as frightening as I feared it would be. It's cold, but the streets and sidewalks aren't covered in slush and I haven't seen a single snowflake yet. It's great to have a few days to explore the city, and of course, to hang out with Sal. Since I'm having a bit of trouble getting Flickr to post my images using my laptop, I think I may just take a hiatus from blogging, or at least from posting outfit photos. I'll be back to my regular posting on the 28th, and in the meantime Sal may be posting updates from her blog. See you soon!

You and Sal looked amazing this morning as you descending into Union Square station. I gasped as the blogsphere merged with real life. You were both quite gracious to the interceptors, whom I was supervising, when they asked you to answer a public health survey. Have fun at Fashion Week. You rocked in those boots!

Hi Audi. I just read your post of Sept 2009 about packing for trips. You mentioned using compression bags, but how do you do without a vacuum?
Glad you're warmer than expected. Hope you can get the photos sorted as I would love to see what you're wearing. Have fun in New York.
So glad to see you last night!
Give my love to Veselka if you get there! Mmmmm, pierogies.
You all lucked out, Audi--we are having a veritable heatwave here in New York. Have fun--Velma

i hope you're home by now, Audi - or you'll miss the 'snow in SF' all the weather-people are predicting! i'm down to fresno, of all places, to visit family.....i may catch the tail end? hope you have fun, throw a snowball for Georgie! steph
katty: Sorry for the late reply; I'm still getting caught up after the trip. There are compression bags that do not require a vacuum; instead they have a one-way valve that allows you to seal the bag and then roll it up to squeeze the air out. It isn't quite as tight a compression as the vacuum bags, but it still saves loads of space in your luggage.
