8 Feet Tall

These shoes make me approximately 8 feet tall. OK, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but I do tower over Mark while wearing them, and that makes me feel like I'm 8 feet tall. I sort of accidentally bought these shoes one day when I went running some errands and stopped into Nordstrom Rack. I say it was accidental because I went in there looking for a duvet cover, but I figured it couldn't hurt to take a look at the shoes, and the next thing you know I find these in my size and I'm trying them on and they look great and they're surprisingly comfortable and they're less than half the original price and... You know how it goes.

They're suede. They're green. They make me 8 feet tall and they feel pretty darn good doing it. There was really no way I was getting out of there without them.

Jacket: thrifted
Tunic: Asos
Pants: Club Monaco
Shoes: Sam Edelman

Those are intense! Ooh those accidental purchases. You think you're just going to look, and find the perfect thing! The boots are fun, and if they're comfortable, then major score! I love the military jacket with your gauzy white blouse.

The color and texture of those boots is just delicious! Also loving that "utilitarian" lug sole.

This is why I can't go near shoe departments: I always accidentally buy a pair!

Hello - fellow nerd and new reader here, I've been trawling through the archives and getting tons of ideas from your great fashion sense! I especially love how you are unafraid of altering / dyeing / swapping out buttons to really make your outfits your own, and I've been inspired to try out some alteration experiments as well now :) also, those are great boots!

Wow look at that heel! I agree with Patti - it's tough to believe those babies could be comfortable, but they are gorgeous!

They're delicious, of course. And I love how you've styled them!

My experience has been that Sam Edelman heels are truly comfortable, even when they look waaaaaaaaaaaay too high for that to be possible. I think he gets the arch right.

Serious jealousy for those soles!!! And when will there be more photos of adorable dogs?

Wow, those are amazing. I'm also in awe that they are comfortable! The combination of the flouncy blouse with the canvas jacket. You always work the soft/hard combination so well.

Nice layering/proportion!! And killer boots! :)

I love those pont pants! I am heartbroken by the apparent unanimous decision by clothing vendors not to sell them in adequate inseams for tall girls. C'mon, make 35" inseam pont pants! Everything out there is practically capri-status on my 5'11 body.

Wow, those boots are fabulous, Audi - I can totally see how they called to you.

I am sometimes surprised at how comfortable an apparent "killer" heel can be...and also how nasty a so-called "comfort" shoe can be. Bizarre.

Those are some pretty killer shoes! I love the look of a hiking or work boot propped up on a 4 or 5 inch stiletto... so rough and edgy, so very chic.

Hope you had a great day!

Perfect shoes for seeing over a crowd!

Oh, and thanks for your great comments. I agree with you -- as adults, we should all be embarassed by our high school yearbook pictures!
