Janet

Recently I had the honor of being featured by the fabulous Sarah Von on her blog Yes and Yes. If you haven't done so already, go check it out!

Looking at these photos, which are now several weeks old, makes me realize how badly I need a haircut. Usually when I get my hair done I make my next appointment then and there, so as not to forget and let too much time slip by before the next cut and color. But for some reason the last time I forgot, and the other morning I realized that my hair has begun to look like Janet from Three's Company. Which was cute... in 1982.

Not exactly the look I'm going for in 2011, though.

Of course making the appointment has been on my to-do list for the last week and a half, but somehow I just haven't managed to remember to call during business hours. I'm hopeful that this is the week I'll actually make it happen.

My aunt gave me this cute top, which has a panel of sequins that show subtly through a layer of sheer chiffon. I like how the soft neutral color looks contrasted against the black shrug.

Top: Express
Shrug: Cenit
Necklace: from a glass shop in Venice
Skirt: Noa Noa
Leggings: Black Market Baby
Boots: All Black

I LOVE those badass boots paired with the stripey/bandage tights. I'm always afraid of tights but seeing you wear them with such great success is inspiring. =)

That's a beautifully subtle blouse. I'm also insanely jealous of how well you pull of that color.

I agree - that tender blouse with those boots is fantastic. Thanks Auntie! Your hair looks great to me, not three's company at all : >

I really love your necklace! It is beautiful! I can remember thinking once how cute Janet's haircut was...but at that time, I did not have the courage to get rid of my long hair!

I think you're being overly critical of your hair. It still looks cute -- and far from Janet-ish. That said, do with it whatever pleases you.

Love, love, love, love, love that skirt. Love it. And I've loved all the different ways you've styled it. So fabulous!

Janet is exactly who I was thinking of when my hair started overgrowing its boundaries recently. Oh, Janet. You look way more stylish than she does, though. I continue to love those leggings, they're so cool.

Thanks for having a blog that caters to all of us nerds. I really like your gray blouse. You have a fun style. Glad that I stumbled onto you over here.

Okay, what does it say that recently I actually had my hair cut like Janet's- ON PURPOSE?
My exact words to my stylist were: "a cross between Keith Richards circa 1971 and Janet from Three's Company- but make sure there's no haystack hair or q-tip effect".

And I love it! Plus, we did the colors of fall- orange, gold and bright red.
Next week it's already time go back for another cut (I'm keeping the shag!) and this time it'll be Halloween colors...

And I love your sequined top! The texture is so enthralling... what a lovely gift!
