What Was I Thinking?

I loved how this outfit looked, but holy crap was it uncomfortable! I hadn't worn these jeans in quite some time, and after a couple hours of wearing them I remembered why: they're way too tight. They were way too tight when I bought them, but I foolishly listened to the sales girl who told me they're supposed to fit this way. So sad; the jeans are adorable but they have to go. What was I thinking, buying pants that are a good 2 sizes too small?

Top: Mica
Cardigan: Anthropologie
Jeans: Dittos
Necklace: glass shop in Venice
Shoes: Bettye Muller

Ooh, that's too bad about the pants. Cute outfit! But nothing is worth wearing pants that are too dang small. Maybe you can find something in a similar color?

nothing worse than too tight clothing. so uncomfortable! good thing you got a photo of this gorgeous outfit though. may the look live on infinitely (though not on your person).

I feel your pain. I normally don't make it out the door in tight clothing because I know I'm gonna gripe all day. But you look fantastic! Great colors.

Ugh, I hate it when that happens. Or when you try something on and it fits great in the store and the minute you get it home it somehow doesn't fit.

I hope you can find a similar pair because those are amazing. I adore that cardigan.

There are products out there that loop through the button hole & around the button to make too-tight pants wearable at least under a tunic like this one. Or you could add an insert in the zipper/waistband if you need more space & they seem to fit otherwise. On the other hand, sometimes stuff just doesn't fit....

It's too bad that the pants are uncomfortable, because they look great and I like that shade of green.

I agree with everyone, que lagrima in regards to the pants! The cut and color are so cute, I'd love a pair of grass-green jeans like these.

Of course, fit and comfort are so much more important (to me) than cuteness, so good on you for deciding to cast them out. I have a bad habit of holding onto things like these in the hope that I'll be able to make them work; I've only recently been purging my closet because of a vague fear of becoming a hoarder someday. At least you got one last wear out of them.

Those jeans may be too small but they sure don't look it! I love the color, so bright and summery.

They're definitely darling, but not worth cutting off circulation to your upper torso!

It is a cute look (the colors especially), but nothing trumps comfort. If you not comfortable, style doesn't matter. Too bad, the pants are very nice.

I would say look into your options before getting rid of them. I've hand stretched jeans before. I'm non-mainstream proportions and have to customize everything a bit to fit. The button extender would be a good idea too (I think I paid $8 for 2 at Joanne's...).
