Giants Fever

It seems the whole city has got Giants fever. Last night there were Giants hats and jerseys everywhere you looked, and after the victory over the Rangers, you could hear people cheering and car horns honking all over town. I got really excited this morning when I noticed that even the guy collecting trash on the side of the highway was wearing Giants orange, until I remembered he was just wearing the Caltrans uniform that's issued to people who have to perform community service. Oh well, at least for today that guy can pretend that he's wearing the orange vest and hard hat not because he got caught drunk driving, but to show his team spirit.

This outfit was meant to have a mod look, but ended up being something else entirely. I like how it turned out though; the shaping of the top works really well with the skirt, and the bright colors counteract the pirate vibe that would ordinarily come across with the combination of the military-styled jacket and cuffed boots. Not that a pirate vibe is a bad thing; in fact, I might try to play that up a little the next time.

In other news, check out this high-larious video of a Dallas reporter at last night's game, in which he flips out because he smells someone smoking weed at the ballpark. Do people really not know that smoking pot in public is not a big deal in SF? And here I thought we had a reputation for it!

Bonus shots of Georgie photobombing me:
The dog's laziness knows no bounds. First she walked right into the photo and couldn't even be arsed to sit up straight (she's actually leaning against my leg), and then she just slid on down to the floor and laid down. I'm surprised she didn't just take a nap right there.

Jacket: F21
Shirt: Red Dress Shoppe
Skirt: Anthropologie
Boots: Modern Vintage

spouse and i were in the city last nite after the game (caught The Negro Problem at Yerba Buena -Heidi RULES!!!) tons of revelers everywhere, but everyone was very good-natured, & it was a hoot to see. it was a beautiful, mild nite for walking in the city - perfect timing!

spouse caught a hilarious interaction between a very prim and proper older lady inquiring the score of a slobberingly drunken young man.....she was so tickled at the blow-out she didn't disapprove at all!

love the double double buttons going on. steph

Love this - perhaps your inner pirate will come out another time!

Ha! I find a similar reaction up here - BC's best is often smoked in public, and I'm always surprised when people are shocked. It's not "Reefer Madness", people, get over it.

Love the skirt....the colour, the details.

Question for you....do you find yourself sticking to certain colour combinations during a season? (haven't been following you long enough to know!) We're heading toward summer Down Under and I find my summer wardrobe dominated by blue, green, yellow and red, whereas winter was dominated by olive, orange, teal and coral!

I've been looking at your blog for awhile but just now realized you take your pictures indoors and they don't have shadows like all mine do. Do you use special photography equipment or anything?

Georgie is so pretty, how can you be annoyed at her? Love the leaning on the leg shot;)

Anonymous: No, I assure you Georgie is fine; she is just profoundly lazy. :-)

Michelle: I guess I do tend more towards darker and more subdued colors in the fall and winter, although our weather here is so mild that the difference between the seasons is not very great.

Colleen: I have a flash with a swivel head that I angle towards the ceiling; this scatters the light more evenly and prevents the harsh shadows. I use a Canon Rebel camera and a Canon Speedlite 430EX flash.

That skirt is fantastic! Georgie is adorable and has a vaguely guilty look on her face in the second picture. Bailey is similarly lazy.

Georgie kills me! I love how you still manage to smile while she's quite obviously leaning up against you. You're such a professional!

I love the military jacket with this outfit, it looks great with the repetition of the buttons.

Heehee, the pictures with Georgie are just adorable. And seriously, this is one of my favorite outfits yet. The color and detailing of that skirt are just phenomenal!

The jacket is brilliant with this outfit. I think it has a mod feel and the jacket is just the right amount of unique to pull it all together. I love it!
