Uniform

This outfit was inspired by Rad_in_Broolyn's recent Angus Young look. I'm not a huge fan of AC/DC, but I must admit I've long been drawn to Angus's English schoolboy uniforms. This outfit wasn't a literal translation because it was too warm that day for a blazer, but I think it captures the vibe pretty well.

These cropped pants were actually in the bin to go to the Goodwill because I hadn't worn them in quite some time, but after getting inspired to do an Angus outfit I pulled them out again. I used to have a matching blazer as well, but I never could bring myself to wear the two together because it looked too, well, uniform-ish. It would have been perfect for this outfit, although I'm sure I would've balked at the last minute. There are limits to just how much of a costume I'm willing to wear, and anyway the jacket just wasn't a very flattering cut.

Shirt: Promod
Vest: A. Byer
Tie: thrifted
Pants: H&M
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: John Fluevog

Here are a couple more Georgie outtakes from the day's photos:

Georgie channels many different animals. Here you can see her "seal" look on the left,
and her "fruit bat" look on the right.

I really like this one. I may have to revisit my own short pants.

I love your dog ... what breed is he/she? We have a mutt that I think must be related to yours because her face and ears look so similar, but we don't know what breeds she is exactly!

Love the Angus interpretation. I think you chose well to not go too literal with it.

And Georgie is SO cute!

Audi, I am coveting those very socks from SD. My list gets longer as I *shop* their site. . . I'll take those 'Vogs too. What a presence, lil' Georgie, each pose is stellar.

I gotta say, I do like Angus and AC/DC but you so rock that look like poor Angus can't!
Love it.

Audi, I love your interpretation of Angus. The sweater vest and tie make it really work well. I love Georgie's expression in these pictures.
(Also, I'm so flattered that you liked my shorts suit!)

Glad you rescued the pants, as they truly are perfect here.

And I TOTALLY see the seal and fruit bat. My cats can do manatee, owl, and puppy.

Love this outfit - you do such a great preppy look.

My cat Inigo does panda, orca and bulldog (he walks like one).

That is really cute.

I'm on pins and needles to see your new apartment!

you are too fucking cute, audi (as is the doggie). I am loving all of the patterns with straight lines, and the schoolboy vibe is HOT!

Georgie is so cute. I've been told that Bailey (my beagle) sounds like a seal, but I've rarely seen her look like one.

I totally adore this outfit. And your dog. My busky-greyhound mix has giant ears like an African wild dog; she is so cute in real life, but looks like a doofus in photos.

I also envy your ability to wear collared shirts so gracefully I feel like the collar always sits way too high on my short neck and I end up fiddling with it all day. Any tips on that?

Love seeing Georgie pose with Mama. Her style quotient is just as high as yours.

Misty: Georgie is a pit mix; more correctly an American Staffordshire mixed with I-don't-know-what. She was a rescue dog, so I can't be sure of her origins, but the vet told me that AmStaffs don't have the chocolate color so she is not a pure breed. But she is most definitely 100% princess now. :-)

Chelsea: I almost feel bad for boys sometimes; us girls look so much better in our clothes AND theirs!

Emily Kennedy: You will see it soon; I promise!

Una: I would say leave the collar unbuttoned way down, and use a a long, loose scarf in place of a tie to lengthen your neckline. You can tie the scarf just like a man's tie but sloppier and less structured. Also, look for collars that are narrower and won't sit as high. Definitely no 70's vintage!

Sal and Sheila: hooray for multi-specied pets! Georgie also does piglet, holstein cow, and grizzly bear. Someday I'll get a recording of her bear sounds...

Amazing look! Can you help me find some way to argyle too?

Audi I don't comment much cos I think your outfits are so intricate and well-planned that there's nothing I can add. In this case, I'd suggest getting rid of the cuff on those shorts. That'd make them sleeker, and a lot more wearable I think. Perhaps save them from the goodwill pile again?

LOL at Georgie channeling other animals. I love your blog, am just usually a lurker, but the princess-puppy brought me out. :)
