Tights and Sandals

**Warning: completely gratuitous adorable dog photos contained herein**

Ever since I tried this look last year, I've been wanting to wear this tights/sandals combination again, because I love the way the rust orange tights look against the brown leather. I realized in looking at these photos that I really should've added the thin brown belt I was contemplating, but that day I only had comfort in mind, so I skipped it. I really like this outfit from the waist up and from the waist down, but I feel like the belt would've helped to transition the two a little better. C'est la vie.

What is really important in today's post is the fact that Georgie decided to participate, and while she pretended to want to sit next to me, I could see that she just wanted to look at Mark, who was seated nearby at the computer (see evidence to the right). Below the outfit details are more gratuitous shots with my adorable dog. You have been warned!

Dress: Red Dress Shoppe
Cardigan: H&M
Skirt: Mango
Tights: Sock Dreams
Sandals: John Fluevog

Georgie is beautiful and I'm so glad she joined you in your outfit pose. I loved seeing her! She increases your style quotient which is already so high :0)

You were photobombed! It happens at my house a lot too. For whatever reason, Bella just *has* to hang aorund my legs when I take pictures outside. Your doggy, by the way, is absolutely adorable.

I can see what you mean about liking both halves of your outfit but not necessarily all together. I love the cowl neck over the cardigan. It just looks right.

Those are intriguing sandals, sort of mary jane-ish but without the closed toe. Upon further inspection, I like them. :)

I love the amazing color combinations you come up with! The rust and brown look great together, and I love how you worked other colors into the mix as well.

And Georgie is just adorable!

I do like the tights with the sandals, those are some of my favorite colors. Georgie is quite a lovely model, I think you've been remiss in not sharing her loveliness more often. Tsk.

Love the tights/sandals combo!

Your pup is too cute.

Your dog is absolutely fabulous! Do you know what kind of a mix she is? She reminds me so much of my dog (who's part border collie, hence the markings). I have a picture of him here, and it strikes me that they would be great fuzzy friends. :)

Your dog! Cute! Killing me!

Aw, I love seeing your dog! I'm more of a cat person, but cute is cute.

I see what you mean about a belt, and I agree that would have helped define the top from the bottom, but it's still a great outfit.

Love the tights with the shoes - what about turquoise tights with those? I love turquoise and brown together.

Yay! I missed the gratuitous doggie pix. She is so cute - and black and white is always in fashion!

Oh, and I second the turquoise and brown idea.

Your dog is so expressive! I love her!

I could not begin to pull that outfit off without looking like an outpatient. I am in awe.

Leah Felicity: Georgie is some sort of pit mix, though I have no idea what she might be mixed with. To me she looks a little like a hunting dog, such as a German Shorthair, and a bit like a Whippet. But then the vet said she could even be mixed with Lab because of the chocolate brown color. Your dog is a cutie too!

Sheila and Cheap Chick: Thank you for the suggestion! I only have turquoise leggings, so I will put tights on my list for my next Sock Dreams order.

Ohhhhh, Georgie is too cute for words. She looks like a full pittie to me - maybe something like a Staffordshire Terrier which would explain why she's a little smaller. Totally a pocket pibble.

Georgie is a gorgeous girl; she has a new fan in my boy Anakin (black lab great dane mix who loves the ladies).

This post also reminds me I get to break out my JF sandals when I am back in the states. Yay!

What kind of dog is that? Sooooo cute!

My doggies name is George! And I call him Georgie all the time.

Your style-sense is a have-to-see for me at every post of yours. Love it.

I love it! I'm always a huge fan of that skirt, I wish I could find one like it. :)

I also wanted to let you know about something unrelated, but awesome... TOMs Shoes (www.tomsshoes.com) is sponsoring One Day Without Shoes (www.onedaywithoutshoes.com) TOMORROW, April 8th. It is a day designated for everyone to go barefoot, to raise awareness about impoverished children who cannot afford the basic need of footwear. So if you, or any of your readers, could help spread the word and go barefoot tomorrow (be it for an hour or a few minutes or all day) it would be AMAZING!

Thanks so much in advance. I love your blog!

That Georgie - what a doll! And I totally skipped the tights/sandals combo this year and went right to bare legs. Thanks for the reminder that this is a fun transitional look.

Your dog is awesome! Do Georgie and Charlie get along?

Oh yeah my little mutt, who we assume is pit/border collie/blue heeler-ish, looks quite a lot like your sweet pup -- square head and all -- just with pointier ears. Mutts are the best!

I am intrigued by this tights-with-sandals thing. I'm tiring of my warmly-lined leather boots, but too wimpy for bare legs just yet ...

Georgie is gorgeous! Look how nicely she's sitting for the photo to be taken, so cute!

I've just started a new blog for Tess, my greyhound, to try and raise some awareness of the dogs that need rehoming in our area. It's only new, so early days yet.

Deborah: Georgie is a pit mix; see my answer above in the comments.

Jenniferocious: Ack, sorry I missed it! My posts don't go up on the day I write them, so timely information is often hard to communicate.

La Historiadora de Moda: Eh, no. Though Georgie is intrigued with Charlie, I fear it's from an I'd-like-to-have-him-for-a-snack perspective. Charlie doesn't seem to mind her peering in at him through the glass, but I try to keep her from doing it anyway. When I take Charlie out, I make sure Georgie isn't around.
